Requirements

  • An iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later.
  • Camera access. The camera is how the game sees your push-ups.
  • About one metre of clear floor in front of your phone.

Getting started

  1. Set your phone down. Prop your iPhone on the floor against a wall, a book or a bottle, screen facing you, roughly one metre away.
  2. Get in position. Drop into push-up position so your head and shoulders are clearly in the frame.
  3. Calibrate. Tap START and do one slow push-up. This teaches the app your range. You can skip calibration if you are in a hurry; the app keeps learning while you play.
  4. Fly. The height of your head moves the bird. Gaps alternate high and low, so every pipe needs a full push-up.
  5. Replay and share. After a crash, watch the replay, then tap Challenge a friend or Save video.

Troubleshooting

The app says camera access is needed

Open Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera on your iPhone and turn on Flappy Push. Then return to the app.

The bird does not follow me, or moves erratically

  • Make sure your whole head is visible for the entire push-up, at the top and at the bottom.
  • Add light. Face a window or a lamp rather than having the light behind you.
  • Avoid busy backgrounds and other people in the frame.
  • Move the phone a little further away or angle it up slightly.
  • Re-run calibration with one slow, full push-up.

The game pauses on its own

The game pauses automatically when it can no longer see you. Get back into the frame and it resumes.

Half push-ups do not score

That is by design. Pipe gaps alternate high and low so that only a full range of motion passes a pipe. If the gaps feel too far apart, calibrate again with a comfortable, complete push-up.

I cannot save the replay to Photos

Saving needs the Add to Photos permission. Open Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos, select Flappy Push and allow Add Photos Only.

The replay is gone

Each replay is kept only until you start a new round, and is then deleted. Save or share a replay before playing again if you want to keep it.

The app is slow or drops frames

Body tracking runs entirely on your iPhone. Close other apps, make sure your phone is not overheating and, on older devices, try better lighting so tracking has less work to do.

Reporting a bug

  • your iPhone model and iOS version,
  • what you were doing and what you expected,
  • a screen recording or replay if you have one.
